The Hornberger Family

This family loves the great outdoors and just being active. When Jennifer emailed me about doing a shoot she said “we have two crazy little blond-haired boys” and I replied with a Bring it on! Tyler and Carter are adorable and full of energy, and I loved it!

Meet Darrick, Jennifer, Tyler and Carter:

I loved both of the next two so decided to post them both :)

In the middle of snapping this picture of Carter, Tyler suddenly pops up from behind and gets in his face… they had me laughing the whole time!

Tyler and Carter displaying some of their craziness!

But we did manage to get a serious (adorable) picture too:

This picture was not planned…  I had somehow gotten behind while walking through the woods and I snapped this as I caught up with them. It turned out to be a favorite of mine, I love how Carter is looking up at his Mom…

And lastly, more captures of the boys just being boys! I love it!

Thank you guys for asking me to shoot these for you… I had a great time!

The Taylor Family

Meet Chris and Jennifer and their adorable son Logan…

We got together in the fall for a family shoot and these are a few of my favorites :)

Love this one!

I personally think Jennifer looks gorgeous in this shot:

Isn’t he precious?!

This is a favorite for sure:

I’ll end with this little series because I think it is just so cute!

Chris and Jennifer- thank you guys for asking me to capture these for you! I had a great time :)

***And before I go…. if you haven’t already done so, check out the Giveaway below!!***

Giveaway!

That’s right, I am doing a Giveaway, and I am pretty excited about it!

So, here we go.

What am I giving away? A Photoshoot with me! (includes session fee and disc of images)

I have been wanting to do this for awhile, as in, for a long time! I think about it, I plan to do it, and now I am doing it. And I am excited!

Here is the deal, leave a comment on this post and you are in the drawing. It is just that easy!

This shoot is for, pretty much, anyone. It can be a family shoot, a couples shoot, a friends shoot, a kids shoot, a newborn shoot, an engagement shoot, a Day After shoot, a bridal shoot, etc.  BUT, not a wedding. Sorry folks :)

As for the number of people this shoot includes, that depends. I’ll try to make it as clear as possible, but if you have any questions or if this just doesn’t make sense, shoot me an email.

  • For a family shoot I will do however many people you have in your immediate family. Basically this covers a Mom, Dad, and kids.
  • If you want to do just the kids, that will be the same as above. If they are all in the same immediate family there is not a limit.
  • For a friends shoot this will be for up to 4 people. This can be anyone, as long as you are friends and want some great pictures!
  • As for any other shoot I think it would be just one or two. That would cover any kind of couples shoot, or just a fun single person shoot. (everyone needs pictures, so if you just need some of yourself, by yourself, go for it!)

Now for the fine print:

  • Like I said, anyone can enter, but the shoot must be local to Monroe, NC.
  • No weddings.
  • Shoot must be done before April 1, 2011. Offer expires after April 1, 2011.
  • Comment here to enter. One comment per person, multiple comments will only be counted once.
  • Contest ends Sunday, January 16th, 2011 at Midnight.
  • The winner will be announced here on the blog.

Okay, now I want to ask you to help out. Please spread the word about this! Facebook, Twitter, blog, email and just talk about it. Tell anyone and everyone you know :) I do not have a Facebook “like” page for Bobbie Brown Photography (maybe I’ll get on that next….who knows!) so I cannot ask you to “like” the page or tag me there for extra entries in the drawing…but I’d be thrilled if you’d spread the word just the same!

And now I am going to start blogging all the shoots I did before Christmas (and a few since Christmas) so come back for some pretty pictures of someone other than my girls…starting tomorrow! (I just looked back and while I realized I had not blogged a shoot lately, I don’t think I realized how long it has been! Wow! Alright, starting tomorrow, Let the blogging shoots begin!)

Now… let the comments begin!

Edited to Add:  I will choose the winner by using Random.org  Thanks for the comments and keep them coming! This is exciting!

Miscellaneous Monday

Kennedy has a camera of her own, but I think she has a little bit to learn when it comes to taking pictures… such as, which way to turn the camera!

As I have mentioned before, I keep a personal blog for both my girls. Last week in a blog post for them I listed a few things that I am currently loving, here is what I said:

For Kennedy:

I love………..

The way you stretch with me, and when you saw me doing sit-ups yesterday you ran and laid down next to me and tried your best to do them too!
The way you run up and down the hall with Bristol giggling and saying “Catch me Sissy! Catch me!” Then “Momma, us play game!”
The way you run into Bristol’s room in the morning at the first sound she makes and yell “Hey! Good Morning! I love you!” (which you have heard me say)
The way you say “Kiss it….” anytime you get a ‘booboo’.
The way you snuggle down in your bed at night and say “night-night” “I love you” and “sweet dreams”.
The way you stand on a chair and put away the silverware and say “dis goes here… dat goes dar…”.
The way you run to hug Daddy as soon as he walks in from work. And if you hear him before you see him your whole face lights up and you say “Momma! Daddy’s home!!!”
When you say ”Momma, ew wanna have tea party?”
The way you say “Momma dance!”
They way you run up and ‘tag’ someone and say “Tag your it!” but half the time forget to take off running yourself!

For Bristol:

I love…….

The way you crawl across the floor in a crazy little dash and giggle with excitement!
The way you crawl as fast as you can up and down the hall with Kennedy while she yells “Catch me Sissy! Catch me!”
The way you stand up at Kennedy’s kitchen set and play with everything. You are just tall enough to reach the top and it is so cute!
The way you take your paci out and sling it off to the side when you get a better offer (food or drink!)
The way you sit in your Bumbo seat eating an afternoon snack and if I look over at you while sitting at my computer you stop what your doing and grin at me or giggle. It is like our secret ‘thing’ we do.
The way you love your taggie.
The way you hear your Daddy come in from work and crawl straight to him.
The way you giggle and smile when we dance with you.

I post a lot about my girls, and I am just curious, how do you feel about this? I get a lot of people who tell me that they love it, but are there some of you who do not like it? I created this little survey and would love to hear from you! (considering the type of survey it is, I will not know who you are… so be honest!) Just click on the link below and let me know how you feel :)

Happy Monday!

(Almost a) White Christmas

Bristol woke up as I was preparing yesterdays post, so I decided to put these pictures on a separate post, and am very pleased with myself for getting them up today I must add! Go me! ;)

Here in NC we don’t get a whole lot of snow. And I have never seen a white Christmas. But this year the snow started falling on Christmas night and the next day we woke up to a winter wonderland!

My backyard looked like this:

And this picture was taken with my phone… we stopped on a bridge on the way home from church so that I could snap it! Snow always makes everything look different in a beautiful crisp and clean kind of way, and to me creeks/rivers/lakes/ponds or any kind of water looks especially pretty.

I forgot Kennedy’s hat and gloves that day (I was in a hurry just trying to get them both ready for church by myself since my hubby was working!) so here she is wearing her Daddy’s hat in the snow at Mimi’s house..

The next day there was still snow on the ground (a rare thing here in NC!) so this time we played out in the snow with hats and gloves that fit!

Have a wonderful weekend!

Christmas flashback

Seriously, I have had intentions of getting this post up since the day after Christmas. Well, my real intentions might have been 2 or 3 days after, but here we are 10 11 12 days after Christmas and I am throwing it together. Finally.  I seem to be caught up in the day-to-day of life.  You know, the kids, the house, the laundry, the what-to-cook-for-dinners? Yeah, that. I am not the cleanest or most organized person by any means. There are many times that I think please don’t let anyone drop in, I’d be so embarrassed because it looks like a tornado came through this place! But while I am not Miss Clean and Organized, I do like for it to be that way. And I do work on it. But, my girls are asleep right now so I am sitting down amongst Cheerios on the floor and toys and books and juice cups, and I am blogging! (Does it count for anything that the broom is leaning against the wall just off to my right where I started sweeping?!)

Lately I have found myself posting quick posts, the ones I can get up in just a few minutes and be done with it.  And that has a lot to do with this:

Oh yes. Bristol Bee likes to follow me around and hang out on my legs, and that slows this Momma down a lot!

So, enough of the rambling, let me get down to the point of this post.

Christmas. It was wonderful! Kids really do make it extra special.

Every year for something like 20 years my MawMaw has had a “Candy Making Day” at her house for us grand-daughters. We used to spend the night – and a few still do – we eat breakfast, have an apron exchange (everyone brings an apron and we play the “White Elephant” game… don’t know about it? Google it, it is fun!) then we get down to the business of making Christmas goodies, wearing our new aprons of course! Well this year I was sick and missed it for the first time ever :( I must admit, I was so bummed.

But, that didn’t stop me from going up to MawMaw’s once I got well and cooking up some goodies. Heidi also came (she had to leave early on the original candy making day because her little girl didn’t feel good) and we just had a good day of baking and making candy with MawMaw and our girls.

Here are a few shots I got of Kennedy and Tori making lemon cookies…

Interesting fact: the rolling pin they used to roll out the dough belonged to Tori and Kennedy’s great-great-great-grandmother!

And here they are proudly showing off the finished product

After the lemon cookies they lost interest in the kitchen and instead let Poppa read books to them and just played together :)

Then Christmas… oh Kennedy was SO excited this year! I took snapshots, but tried to just be in the moment more than getting great pictures. Because often if you are not careful you’ll find yourself behind the camera capturing the moments instead of living them :)

While doing some baking of my own…

I looked over and saw Bristol holding her “taggie” and just about to fall asleep watching me while she sat on the counter in her Bumbo seat…

I thought it was pretty adorable :)

And I’ll end this post with one last picture from Christmas morning; Kennedy digging in her stocking… This picture makes me giddy with Christmas happiness.

Miscellaneous Monday

As I have mentioned before, Kennedy is not exactly easy to get pictures of.  So to say that I was a little bit excited that I managed to capture her – with a real smile and an adorable look – is an understatement. The lighting conditions were terrible in this room, so I was using flash. But still, I love these!

Happy Monday :)

Happy New Year!

Today I saw a quote on a water bottle, and if you know me, you know I love quotes. I loved this one right away, it said:

In a world where you can be anything, be yourself.

Happy New Year to you all! May the new year find you healthy and happy and be a wonderful year for you. And remember, be yourself. :)

XoXo

Miscellaneous Monday

I promise to post a ‘real’ post soon.

The last few days have been exciting. And I think the picture above shows the excitement. Along with exciting, it has been busy! I am currently going through pictures, trying to get them edited, backed up, etc. I am hearing “Momma, watch this!” and then “Did you see that Momma?!” about every 5 seconds. It is Kennedy’s most favorite thing to say right now.

I promise to blog soon… I always feel kinda bad to see how many people visit the blog on Monday when I haven’t posted anything. So here I am posting one picture and a promise to post more soon :)

I hope your Christmas was Merry and bright and your Monday is wonderful!
