Eudy Kids

Okay, the title of this post is not really true… it should read “Nathan” (the youngest of the Eudy kids) because that is really all we have right now! I did throw in one of Laura and one of Jacob, but we are not yet finished getting their pictures – we plan to finish this week – but in the meantime I could not help sharing these of Nathan…. They are SO cute!

Okay, first we have Laura of course… (love those blue eyes)

And Jacob….

Then we have ‘thumbs up Nathan’ – he wanted to give the thumbs up sign in every picture! It was hilarious!

Here he is showing off his teeth….

Then we have the water pictures…. I am taking his picture while he is perched on a rock when he suddenly decides that he would rather be in the water! Now, let me pause here to admit that I am not always the best at making kids ‘stay put’ especially when they do something like this – I would rather just sit back and take their picture of them being kids!! I just love these kinds of pictures, I think they show the real kid that they are… And so, with that being said, as you can see in picture one he gets one foot in the water. Picture two he has both legs in with that tongue hanging out! In picture three he is in and giving the thumbs up sign again and then in picture four he has a wide eyed look that is just to cute!

Remember, you can click on any of these small pictures to make them bigger…

And last of all I captured this picture (which I LOVE) before his Mom came over and pulled him out before he got too wet!

Thank you!

I just wanted to post a quick little note to say a huge “Thank you” to all of you who comment and give me feedback on my pictures. To all of you who encourage me to go further and take chances. Some of you comment on my blog, (thank you! I love to see comments!!) Some of you email me, tell me in person, etc. I know I have posted a ‘Thank you’ post before, and I may be saying some of the same things….. But it truly does mean so much to me to hear and to know that my pictures have touched someone in some way or another. A mother recently told me that I had managed to capture the same expression on her grown son that she remembered seeing when he was a little boy; it made me feel so good! All of your comments and encouragment make me feel as if I am doing something right. So thank you and I hope I can continue to take pictures that you all love.

Here a couple that I took of a barn I recently found… I just love it!!

The Hallman Kids

A good looking group of sisters and brother and a fantastic backyard to take pictures in!
Thanks guys for asking me to do your pictures – I hope you love them…

We even got a few of Patrick and Erika together… he was a little camera shy at first, but he came around!

Mark and Brittany

Brittany wanted a few ‘maternity’ pictures before she has her baby (due the end of this month) so we got together over the weekend and did a little photo shoot.
(don’t we all wish we could look like this girl 9 months pregnant??!!)

I love this little series; Brittany and I didn’t know Mark was going to make this face – he just sat down and did it and luckily I was ready to get the shot!! I think it is hysterical!

Derrick & Emily: I Do

Okay, first of all, for all you out there who have ever asked me to do your wedding pictures in the past and I simply explained that as much as I appreciated the offer but “I do not do weddings” this wedding was a little different. And here is why; Emily had a photographer lined up, she had been talking to her for several months when at the last minute – the week before the wedding to be exact – the deal fell thru. For some reason or another, the photographer was not able to do it. And that is when Emily called me. She called me on a Monday night (the wedding was going to be that coming Saturday) and explained it all to me. She then asked if I would mind doing the wedding pictures for her. She assured me that if I did not want to do it that she would understand and told me that if I would do it she knew without a doubt that I would get exactly what she was looking for. Now, that was awfully sweet of her, and I had done the pictures of the field asking her to marry for Derrick and then did their engagement pictures, but a wedding? Oh boy, was I nervous! But how could I say no? I mean, she was in quite a predicament. So I agreed that I would do it.

As we pulled out of our drive to head over to the wedding I could feel my heart beat a little faster. I tried to think if I was forgetting anything important; memory cards, extra battery, lens, etc. I confessed to Stuart that I was nervous and wondered if I could do it. He, of course, having all kinds confidence in me, told me that I would do just fine. He told me that it was okay to be a little nervous, he had been nervous at some of his best baseball games. He said not to let it get the best of me and just go “do my thing”… So, with all that being said, I went out and I did it. I took pictures, I pulled on collars, I walked and squatted in heels, and boy do I have a new respect for wedding photographers – It is a ton of work!

But in the end I was quite happy with my images. I had fun, but I was also reminded of why I have turned down weddings in the past. It is just a one shot deal, you can’t redo a wedding, and that in itself is a lot of pressure!

Derrick, Emily and your families:
Thank you for trusting me with your pictures more than even I trusted myself!

Derrick and Emily, I hope you two are loving married life! Congratulations!
Note: some of these pictures are a bit small becuase I made them into a little collage, but if you click on the image it should bring up a bigger picture for you…..

The Hyatt/Helms Kids

A few weeks ago Peggy (AKA: Paulette) called and asked me to take some pictures of her little sisters for her Mom as a Mothers Day gift. That soon turned into taking pictures of all the kids – and the 3 grandkids! So, now that Mothers Day is over, I am allowed to post these… enjoy! (and Happy Mothers Day Aunt Karen!)

Rachel and John: I Do

I was not the photographer but Rachel said it was okay for me to bring my camera to the reception… so I grabbed a few detail pictures and a few people pictures too….
Congrats Rachel and John! I hope you are having fun on your cruise!!

Her bouquet was gorgeous! (I just had to post two pictures!)

I love this picture!

For those of you who don’t know Mom; this is her saying “Barbara, stop it!”

Softball

These are more of Stu playing softball…. And just in case you are wondering, the blurry/white in some of the pictures are because I am taking them thru the fence… You can tell more in some pictures than others. I usually go inside the fence and one of the guys sort of ‘protects’ me from getting hit with the ball, but Stu put a stop to that and said that not only do I have to stand on the outside of the fence but I also have to stand at one of the poles now that I am pregnant! I agree… it is best for me and the baby… it just makes taking pictures a little more challenging! But hey, without a challenge how will I get better??

I got distracted by this little web on the fence and missed Stu making some sort of awesome play! But I didn’t mind to much because I thought this was pretty cool!

Derrick and Emily

The weather man was calling for rain so we decided to meet earlier than planned and try to beat it… As I drove I felt like the rain was right behind me, but luckily it held off as we wondered around Derrick (and soon to be Emily’s) house taking pictures.

Derrick and Emily-
Congratulations on your engagement and Thank you for letting me do your pictures!
