My little ladybugs

Whew! It has been a crazy busy week! Most of the time you hear the phrase “I am so glad it’s Friday!” Well, not that I am not glad it’s Friday, but I could have used two Wednesdays this week :)

I am terribly behind blogging my shoots. I have just been so busy shooting and editing (yes, that is a good thing and I am very happy to have all the shoots!) My weekend was especially busy with 5 shoots in 3 days. (Uh, yeah… FIVE shoots in THREE days!) Two of those were on Sunday, Halloween. So, when I got back to Mimi’s house to pick up my girls (and hubby) they were all decked out in their little lady bug costumes and I just swooned. They looked SO cute! We didn’t have much time  at all for pictures, but as Stuart loaded up our car to head home for trick or treating I snapped a few… (then told myself I would put them back in their costumes later in the week for ‘better’ pictures.. yeah right, that didn’t happen!)

 My Bristol Bug:

And my Kennedy bug:

Mimi taught Kennedy how to fly and “Bzzzz” like a lady bug… She refused to get her picture taken with Bristol and instead would fly and “Bzzzz”…

Bristol of course found that very funny!

Have a fab weekend everyone!

(Thank you for the costumes Carol!)

Tylan

This little guy is absolutely precious! Check out Tylan and how much he has grown since our  last shoot

I love this shot of his sweet little feet!

Love the lips… isn’t he precious?!

Ah! Those eyes!

Megan (his Mom) brought the coolest prop; this car belongs to her Dad and I LOVE it! (So did Tylan!)

We ended the shoot taking a ‘bath’ in a tin bucket complete with bubbles and a rubber duck… LOVE IT!

And again, Tylan loved it too! Can you tell?!

Miscellaneous Monday

So, I got on the ‘other side’ of the camera several weeks ago. I ran around like a crazy lady getting myself ready, Kennedy and Bristol ready, picking out a shirt for my hubby, etc.  We finally made it to our shoot location – 9 minutes late. (and if you know me, I am not generally a ’late’ person, but we were late that day!) Then Kennedy refused to stand/sit/lay/anything(!) for even 5 seconds. Which, if we weren’t trying to get a picture with all 4 of us then it would not have been such a big deal. If it was just pictures of her we could chase her around, right?  But you really can’t chase around a family of four and expect to get a good picture! So, I tried everything. I bribed with candy, I ran while holding her – in an effort to entertain her – then I would run up to Stu and Bristol who would be waiting patiently for us, my hair flying all over the place and Kennedy saying “No Mommy!” every time I stopped running. Yeah. It was an experience.

By the time we left I said if she got one – just one! – good picture then she did good.

Alicia, Thanks again girl. You managed to get more than just one good picture. You did great!

Here are a few of my favorites… to see Alicia’s blog post with her picks, click HERE.

Haha! LOVE this!

I took my old vintage camera along for a few shots… I like this one Alicia got:

I think it is good for photographers to be on the other side of the camera every once in a while. In fact, I was really looking forward to ‘striking a pose’ and playing with my family and having that captured, these moments, they go by so fast. I want to capture them and be able to look back on them. It may not have been as easy as I expected, but hey, I have a 2-year-old! (not to mention a 7 month old) And I’d do it all over again for sure! It’s real life, and we just roll with it.

Alicia feels the same way about capturing her family, and so we traded out, you can see the shoot I did for her and her girls back in the summer by clicking HERE.

And I have to say I big Thank You to Monica for the hair flowers my girls are wearing… love them!

Adah

Meet Adah; a sweet little blond hair, blue eyed 1 year old:

LOVE her blanket!

I snapped a couple of her and her Mommy… love the ‘kissing’ lips she is doing here!

Ah! This pictures makes me yawn just seeing it!

Anna, thanks again for asking me to capture your sweet little girl!

Miscellaneous Monday

I did a family shoot at the beach several weeks ago - I’ll blog some images from that shoot soon :) For now, here are a few random shots I got – nothing perfect by any means, but I like them anyway.

Bristol looking like cutie-pie in her little swimsuit:

Happy Monday!

Jonathan and Holly

My sister, Holly, got married a couple of weeks ago (I posted a few wedding pictures HERE)… I did engagement pictures for her and her now-husband before the wedding, and well, just now getting around to posting them! (insert shameful face here, haha!)

These are a few of my favorites: (and yes, we look a lot alike. And no, we are not twins! Just had to say that because anyone who does not know us asks!)

Miscellaneous Monday

Last week was one of those weeks. You know, the kind of week that didn’t go exactly as you had hoped.  I had full intentions to blog more after Monday, but it got put on the back burner. Again. I sometimes struggle to balance it all. This time of the year is busy for me and I often tell myself to get more organized, to plan better. But it’s not always that easy is it?  Well, this week I hope to make up for the lack of blogging last week.

I spoke of a game we like to play, High-Low, on my old blog. (you can see that post here).  I find myself thinking about the highs and the lows of last week as I sit down to prepare this blog post.  One of the lows would include Bristol being a very un-happy little Bee. As in, very un-happy. She is cutting 2 new teeth and had a runny nose, this resulted in Mommy not getting much done and not getting a lot of sleep at night. Now, this may not sound like a big deal, but trust me, if you’ve ever had a baby that was, well, very happy then you would understand!

But that is the thing about High-Low that I love. Often when you talk about the high and the low you realize that the low really could be worse, and the high is what counts. I pulled my camera out a few times last week and captured some moments. And these moments? Well, these are my high’s.

My girls and our walks pulling them in the wagon. Love it.

Ah, the cheesy smile!

Getting disc’s finished and packaged, that always makes me feel good :)

Stu and I celebrated our 3 year anniversary last week, and I got ‘good’ mail, and that is always  a good thing! (I spoke of getting ‘good’ mail here in this post)

And Bristol happy, well that is definitely a good thing!

learning to hold her own bottle….

I picked up a few hair flowers and this crayon/coloring book bag from Monica… and her stuff always makes me happy! Seriously, how cute is this?

Kennedy loves it..

and so does Bristol!

Love this picture of Kennedy so much I saved it as my desktop background picture on my computer!

Happy Monday to you all, may your week be full of high’s! :)

Miscellaneous Monday

Oohhh Monday, Monday.

The weekend is over, the house looks like a tornado came through with everything from jackets drapped across the back of the couch to diaper bags that made it only as far as just inside the door… Monday mornings usually find me working through lots of laundry (why does it seem like the laundry piles up on the weekend? and there is only four of us!), deciding what to make for supper for the week, quickly writing out grocery lists, and mentally going over everything that needs to be done this week and everything that I hope to actually get done.

But, that does not stop me from snapping a few pictures of my girls in their jammies. Something about kids and their PJ’s, I just love it. :)

Kennedy drawing and coloring first thing this morning…

And this is Bristol fresh out of bed…

Happy Monday!

TC

She has a beautiful name, Tressa Ann, but we call her by her initials most of the time (Tressa Ann Caroline).  Either way, TC – Tressa Ann, is my younger sister and recently got her braces off for the 2nd time, so we did a photoshoot to celebrate pretty teeth! (and it was time we did another shoot for her anyway, it had been awhile!) :)

Here are a few of my favorites:

Heehee!

I love this one… I love all the reflections I was getting on the glass… This was a shot I did through a window.

TC… I had a great time with ya! XoXo
