Miscellaneous Monday

It is December. The countdown to Christmas has begun! Or, in our house, we just look for Christmas lights and ‘big snowman outside-side!” (in Kennedy’s words) She loves the big inflatable snowmen.  She is not quite old enough to count down the days to Christmas, but she squeals with excitement when she spots Christmas lights, snowmen or anything else that is festive as we drive down the road. It is pretty cute, I must say.

The girl also loves applesauce. I took a few pictures of her eating some last week. I figured if she was going to stay in one place for more than 5 seconds I’d take advantage and snap some pictures :)

Bristol was eating a cookie while Kennedy ate her applesauce…

and I had to snap a quick picture over the weekend right before we walked out the door of Bristol in her seat with her little bunny ears coat on :)

While Kennedy is loving applesauce I am loving this cool little camera.  It is a mini Diana (it belongs to my brothers girlfriend) she had it sitting out at my parents house over the weekend so I had to play with it a little bit :) I am excited to see what the pictures look like, if they turn out to be any good then I’ll post them here on the blog.  It is a film camera, so that means we have to wait. Oh yes. That is hard for me! (I should have taken the lens cover off for this picture, but I forgot too)

I found myself glancing down at the back of the camera when I’d snap a picture, expecting to see it..haha!

By the way, ”Thank you” for your point and shoot camera suggestions. I have not bought one yet, but hope to soon!

I am also loving this video of Kennedy I took over the weekend… (for some reason I cannot get it embedded here on the blog… I can only get the link to show up. But if you click on the link below you should be able to see it)

And while I am talking about things I am loving… my Christmas candles and getting my first Christmas cards over the weekend are right up there on the list. And the fact that the cards I got this weekend had pictures I had taken made me extra happy :) (thank ya’ll!)

Happy Monday to all and Happy Birthday to my Dad!

Sol

This little boy is dear to my heart… I have been doing his pictures since he was only a couple months old.  I love getting to see him every few months and see how much he has changed and grown.

Here he is exploring on his first trip to the pumpkin patch :)

(his expression in this first picture makes me laugh!)

Miscellaneous Monday

Well here we are… the Monday after Thanksgiving. I hope you all had a wonderful weekend and a Happy Thanksgiving :)

Our’s was wonderful. After a long weekend, we have got a super busy week ahead of us. Starting out with no laundry detergent. How did that happen?! I don’t even remember the last time I ran out of laundry detergent. It is something that I feel a little lost without.  I just don’t like the feeling of not being able to throw in a load of laundry if and when I decide to. And believe me, it seems like I always have a load of laundry to do! Oh well, that means my trip to the store will just have to be first thing today!

Mmm, I am rambling.

Truth is, I have no idea what my post is going to be today. So I am letting myself ramble. (sorry, feel free to skip this post and come back later!)

I would share pictures from my weekend with you. IF I had taken any! I took my camera with me a few places, but I didn’t even take it out the bag! I know, terrible. But sometimes, especially after shooting a lot, I just don’t want to mess with it. Like I need a little break. A little down time from the camera. Or maybe like I just want to live in the moment instead of capture it. And doing that generally rejuvenates me and makes me want to shoot. Makes me excited to pick the camera up again. So, for the upcoming shoots I have this week and weekend, well ya’ll, bring it! Because I have had a long weekend without the camera and I am ready to shoot again!

I did pull out my phone and snap a picture of Kennedy and Bristol while shopping. It turned out awful. And it made me want a small point and shoot camera for my purse even MORE. Mine broke awhile back and I don’t like being without it. Because who knows when I’ll want to snap a picture of my girls while shopping in World Market? And I’d like for it to be a decent shot! Any suggestions on what point and shoot is a good one to have? There are so many out there I don’t have a clue!

And it needs to take a better picture than this!!:

See what I mean? My camera phone is not doing the job.

While out and about shopping, I did come across a quote that I love. (I love finding good quotes) I don’t remember who it quoted, or if it even said, but it said “A good leader leads by example”. Love it!

Happy Monday … If you are still reading :)

Thanksgiving, Thank you.

Mmmm, Thanksgiving. It is that time of year again when the kitchen smells yummy from all the baking and cooking. Family gets together. The boys go to Turkey Shoots. The girls look through the paper at all the ads and wonder aloud if that sale is really worth getting up at a crazy hour for. We eat more turkey than we really care about.  And we are thankful.

Today I wanted to stop baking and cooking long enough to say a huge “Thank You” to you. My blog readers. My clients. My commentors. My supporters. Whatever you are, whoever you are, Thank you!

I am humbled and thankful, and inspired. THANK YOU!

And because a post is always better with pictures, here is one of Bristol that just melts my heart. (taken a few weeks ago)

Something about that look… it just pulls on the heart-strings!  And of course I can’t stop at just one……

Kennedy jumped in this one, and I love it…they way they are looking at each other!

Happy Thanksgiving :)

Family shoot at the beach

I am so far behind blogging… it feels like I did this shoot months ago! (It was not that long ago, but it has been awhile!)  The McComb family asked me to come to the beach to do their pictures.. They have spent a lot of time together over the years at their beach house and love it there, so the beach is a little extra special to them.

*This shoot was a gift to Christy for Mothers Day… so, Happy Mothers Day Christy!

Miscellaneous Monday

Oh boy… it is Monday AND the week of Thankgiving… What?! Where did the weekend go? I can hardly believe it is the week of Thanksgiving already.

And I still haven’t blogged like I keep ‘planning’ too :(     But, I’ll catch up one of these days… till then, enjoy a picture of my bathroom (it is not a great picture, and we aren’t done yet) but, I looooove the bird cages my friend Julie painted for me:

Happy Monday to you all!

What?

You thought my Mommy was going to blog a shoot today?!

Hahahaha!

Nope, she just talks about it, but at least you get to see me!

Hahahahhahhahaha!

Okay, that was lame. Pretending that Bristol had taken over my blog. But, maybe it made you smile along with the eye-rolling!

I don’t have time for a full post of a shoot (what’s new, right?) so that is why you are seeing this, I had to post something! And I am hitting publish before I change my mind..

Have a great day  :)

Miscellaneous Monday

Hello! (I am so tempted to type “Hello World”, I have that song stuck in my head right now … I love it, if you haven’t heard it yet, go hear it! Hello World by Lady Antebellum) Love that song as well as a few others right now. (Bon Jovi – What do you got and Blake Shelton – Who are you when I’m not looking to name a couple more).  And I have managed to type most of this post in parentheses thus far… (Okay, enough of the parentheses) (Pun intended!)

Hope your weekend was wonderful :) We are back to Monday again, and I am again ‘planning’ to blog more this week. As I have mentioned a few times now, this time of year is just a little bit busy for me. And my blog tends to go lacking because of it. One thing that has made us extra busy around here is the fact we have had to re-do our bathroom. (we had a small mildew problem that forced us to tear down wallpaper, paint, etc. and here I am using parentheses again!) Anyway, we are getting close to being finished and I cleaned it one night last week. I was feeling really good about it, everything looked so good and we could actually use it again. I’ll have to post a picture when we get done. Julie is going to put a little bit of her magic in there :) So, back to feeling good about getting the bathroom back in working order, I got it all cleaned, went to the other bathroom to shower and we have one of those hand-held shower heads… well, the hose blew and sprayed water all over the walls and ceiling! I kid you not. We get one bathroom usable again and something goes wrong in the other! And yes, it was replaceable and has already been replaced. But now we have a nice brown spot on our ceiling from the water spray. :(

I talk about High/Low, I guess you could say that was one high and low from my week. Another sweet spot in my week would be keeping this little girl for a few hours, Ally:

Isn’t she a cutie?! And, she obviously thinks I am funny :)

Happy Monday!

Leah

Happy 1st Birthday to Leah!

We got together for some ’fallish’ pictures and to capture sweet little Leah smashing her 1st birthday cake :)

She was a little ‘neat’ at first, but she quickly got into it!

I also took pictures at her birthday party… here are a few detail shots:

And I’ll end with this picture because I think it is just so sweet…

Miscellaneous Monday

Hello! Hope your weekend was wonderful… I had a great weekend myself, thanks for asking :)

Driving down the road on Saturday I noticed how gorgeous the sky was, a beautiful blue with big white fluffy clouds… so I snapped a picture with my phone, it really does not do it justice, but here it is anyway:

I actually managed to get Kennedy to stand ‘sort of’ still and smile while I snapped a few pictures of her the other day!!!!!!!!!!!! (wondering why I put all the exclamation marks? because Kennedy normally refuses to let me take her picture) We played a very silly game that I made up on the spur of the moment, and I love these sweet, laughing images I got :)

I also love this picture I snapped of Bristol a couple of weeks ago:

And this next one is (from left) Tori, Kennedy and Kourtnie at MawMaw’s house blowing bubbles:

Tori has gorgeous blue eyes and I love how they pop in this picture…

There you go, a hodge-podge of miscellaneous pictures for Miscellaneous Monday! Have a happy day everyone :)
