Brooke and Kara

Kara is a precious newborn, with lots of dark hair….

Brooke is her big sister who was a little bit camera-shy at first…but she soon came around and showed off her big smile and pretty blue eyes ;)

Love these two…

Brooke is so proud of her little sister :)

I love baby feet shots…but put ‘em with some big sister feet and I love ‘em that much more!

Thanks Christy! It was so good to see you again.

Miscellaneous Monday

Kennedy has a bunny that was given to her when she was a newborn (Thank you Jenny!) She loves this bunny and still sleeps with it every single night and snuggles with it when she is sleepy. (yeah, this bunny is a stuffed animal) This bunny’s name is “Bunny” (we are so creative) and when she got up from her nap the other day I captured a few pictures of her with Bunny. I love these kind of shots because they are so real and I know I will love to look back on these when she is older and Bunny is no longer so important….

Bristol Bee was hanging out on the floor with us that day, so of course I turned my camera on her for a few :)

 Happy Monday!

Calvin and Mika

Okay, this post has a lot of pictures! So be warned….

Calvin is a senior this year, hence the reason for the shoot. He decided to get his girlfriend, Mika, in on the shoot too, and they put together and great vintage glam look for the first part…  I.loved.it.

Seriously, loved it!

They changed outfits for a totally different look about halfway through the shoot…

Calvin and Mika, thanks for asking me to do these for you and for totally rocking it out in front of my camera! You guys were awesome :)

Holdyn and Stratton

Holdyn and Stratton are two adorable brothers. You may remember seeing Stratton as a newborn, well, he is growing up fast.. already sitting up by himself now! We got together for a shoot a couple of weeks ago and these are some of my favorites:

Holdyn thought it was hilarious to tip over and take Stratton down with him…Stratton didn’t mind at all!

Yes, it’s true, his eyes are that gorgeous!

Holdyn also has gorgeous eyes…

Stratton got sleepy near the end of our shoot, he grabbed his feet and went right to sleep! It was precious…

Thanks Brittany, for asking me to do these for you :)

Miscellaneous Monday

Ahh, this Monday morning finds me needing to clean the weekend mess and get busy editing shoots. So, not having blogged this post ahead of time, it is going to be a quickie :)

I found a notebook this weekend, stuck in a drawer, with an Irish Blessing printed on the front that I had forgotten about, and still love…

may the road
rise to meet you,

may the wind
always be at your back,

may the sun
shine warm upon your face,

may the rains
fall softly upon your fields…

Yesterday as I finished up a shoot at the lake, I looked out over the water and saw this:

It made me want to just settle down right here and watch the sun set… beautiful!

Have a great Monday!

Easton

I feel like I can safely say that Easton loved this shoot as much as I loved shooting it. This entire shoot is very boy, and he loved it! What little boy wouldn’t want to go to the creek and go fishing, climb on rocks and throw rocks in the water? He didn’t want to leave when we were finished :)
His Mom, Hannah, made his fishing rod, it was perfect and I was in love as soon as I saw it!

The fish are biting over there!

I love these next two for the simple reason that he just looks content. This kid does not sit still, and he just plopped down here and watched the creek… it was adorable!

Thanks for asking me to do this shoot for you Hannah :)

As they are…

To all  you Momma’s out there; do me a favor, go pick up your camera and capture your kids as they are. Doing whatever it is they do. You’ll be happy you did!
And I’ll just go ahead and put this out there too: don’t think I am the greatest at capturing my own kids. I am not. In fact, I sometimes think that it is crazy that I am a photographer and don’t snap more moments of my own life and kids. But as we all know… things get busy, it is not always easy… but I did pull out the ‘ol camera yesterday and captured these. And as I went through them it got me to thinking… first, to challenge you all to go snap some pictures of your kids (you can thank me later! ha!) and then, just for fun, Like me on Facebook, then share the picture(s) you capture on my wall. Maybe I’ll end up with a wall full of cute kids! ;)
Happy Shooting!

Pssst…that is my new blue walls in these pictures :)

Now I feel like I need to go call all my friends and beg them to post pictures of their kids on my wall so I don’t feel silly for the suggestion if nothing shows up! haha!

Miscellaneous Monday

We had a movie night this weekend, Soul Surfer was our pick and it was awesome! I laughed, cried and felt totally inspired by the time it was over… If you want a good movie and haven’t seen it yet, then I’d suggest seeing it :)

Now, Monday morning brings the regular overload of laundry (how is it possible that we dirty so many clothes over a weekend?!), the disastrous house, the need to go grocery shopping, which by the way, I put off and dread till I go and do it! Just get it done already! Sigh…

I had this cutie at my house last week…

Canyon was sitting at my table in good light… and so I pulled out my camera and snapped a few pictures :)

Meanwhile, Bristol was having a good ‘ol time with a ball!

Happy Monday Everyone!
