Tenley Rhyann

Someone once told me that a Mothers heart expands with each child. God made it possible.

Along came Bristol Bee and I found that they were right. Not that I was ever afraid I wouldn’t love her, oh I knew I would, but Kennedy was my first. The one that I first got to experience that Mothers Love for. And I wondered, how do you feel this way again? This much love for another little person? It is amazing. And now that I have three sweet (well, sweet most of the time!) little girls, I know without a doubt, it’s true. Your heart just expands.

With Tenley I have realized that not only do we have plenty of love to go around and room in our hearts, I have also found that we still get excited about the little things. “Oh look! She just smiled!” “Stu come here! She is laughing!!” “Oohhh, look! She found her toes!” Translation: I am just as much the over-excited-look-what-my-kid-just-did-Mom when she does something new as I was with Kennedy and Bristol. Being #3 just means she has more cheers and “oohhhhhs”. :)

Thanks for looking, Happy Monday!

Jillian

I was feeling it. Everywhere I looked, inspiration. I wanted to feel the weight of my camera in my hands, hear the sound of the shutter click. I wanted to create, like, right then. And so I sent a quick text to my cousin Jillian, I think it said something like this…

Me: Hey! Wanna model for me?
Her: Sure! When?
Me: Tonight?!?
Her: I’ll be there!

Seriously. She rocks. She was in class when she got my text, after classes she ran home grabbed a her stuff and she was ready! I asked her to bring a few specific things that I knew she had. She somehow understood my vision and brought along all the right stuff that worked perfect for our little last minute shoot :)

Jillie - seriously, thank you!

Um, Hello Gorgeous!

Outfit and location change…

Jillian loves to read, we’ve said for a long time now we were going to get some pictures and include her favorite books and magazines….finally, we made it happen!

Thanks for looking.

Her Way

I looked out the window to see her sitting on the driveway next to her bike, baby doll in arms, in her own little world of pretend. I grabbed my camera to capture the moment. I wanted to freeze it and save it, because these moments? They are fleeting.

Bristol Bee was doing her thing… I love capturing her sweetness these days – she is at an ‘easier’ age/phase to capture right now :)

Out came the princess dress; Kennedy actually asked me to take her picture in this dress. While I’d love to have pictures in regular clothes, doing it her way made her happy. And so we rolled with it. (and now we have a picture of the dress she often wears over her clothes!)

Leap Frog is a favorite game these days, and this time the baby doll was included…

Daddy came home while we were outside, and I love these next two shots!

Happy Monday!

Baine

Newborns are a special subject to photograph. They require a different kind of approach, and often, a lot of work for just a few shots! I have seriously considered not doing newborn shoots in the past, for several reasons. But I am glad I have kept at it and hope maybe I can continue to find my own way in this area of photography…

Meanwhile, my latest newborn subject, sweet little Baine….

Love these two shots; one of his big sisters (he has two) came over and snapped a few pictures with her Moms phone….and I just love everything about it!

Daddy is a golfer so we pulled his clubs out of the garage for a few shots :)

Carol, thanks for asking me to do these for you!

Miscellaneous Monday

Hold on tight. Because this post is going to be all over the place, totally random, and switching gears a lot. Or maybe I should just say don’t pay too close attention…because I don’t know how well this will all fit together, if at all :) But it’s Miscellaneous Monday, so I’m gonna do it. Fingers to keyboard, and just put my randomness out there!

Kennedy is seriously into scissors these days. I love it, and I am scared of it. I mean, really, I am just waiting on the day someone gets a hair cut.

I am currently reading The Forgotten Garden and I love it! It is for sure a page-turner, yet, I feel like I am detached just enough so that my house is not falling down around me while I sit buried in my book. Translation; I am able to put it down and get stuff done, and happily come back to it when I have time. Too often I get so involved in a book I don’t want to put it down till I am done!

I love the way Bristol colors and draws with her tongue sticking out a little…

That hair looks like a hot mess because she slept with pigtails, and then we never tried to ‘fix’ them once she got up :)   (am I overusing smiley’s today?)

I spent hours going through the girls clothes that were stored in the basement, sorting the sizes and figuring out what Bristol and Tenley could where this fall/winter. I always dread doing it and put it off. But I did it and was feeling so proud of myself when I noticed a container I had missed. Seriously?! :(   (there is an un-smiley face for ya)

I love Goodwill, most of the time I don’t find a single thing, but every once in a while I find something I love. My latest find:

Not sure where I will use it or what for yet, but I know I’ll put it to good use somehow. And, it was only $2.99! Here it comes….another smiley! :)

I played Candyland with the girls the other day, and I read the directions. Hey! Don’t judge, I haven’t played in years and wanted to make sure I was teaching them right!

My playlist currently has “What Makes You Beautiful” by One Direction, and “Cruise” by Florida Georgia Line… both make me want to sing (off tune, trust me) and pedal my stationary bike faster. But I don’t (sing, that is) because I am too out of breath from pedaling.

Happy Monday!

Friday Snapshots

I try to make a point to just take pictures. Of life, of moments, of us. I try not to critique these pictures too much, I don’t want to spend too much time on them, but I do want to capture the moments that make up who we are, what we do, where we go.

Often I use my little point and shoot camera for these shots, and today I want to share a few with you. These were picked quickly and randomly from files over the past couple of months… Enjoy! Oh, and go grab your camera and capture a little moment in your life – you’ll be happy you did!

Notice in a few of those Tenley is sucking her thumb? Yep, she has turned out to be our first thumb-sucker! And I am happy to say that I have gotten over it and now I simply capture the cuteness :)
(at first I pulled that thumb out every time I saw her sucking and popped a paci in… finally I gave up!)

Happy Friday!

Joey

Joey is one cute little guy! We got together and did this shoot to document him at One year old, and these are a few of my favorites :)

Mmmm, kissy lips! (then the chair got a great big kiss! – LOVE it!)

We did a cake smash, which I always love!

Big Sis Leah was there near the end, she helped out with the cake-eating ;)

(and thats little cousin Natalie in the background)

Regina, thanks again for asking me to do these for you!

I say Tomato, you say Tomahto

I have been feeling the inspiration lately. And I love it. I see something and I want to create. I want to grab my camera and capture it the way I ‘see’ it. It’s a great feeling, and a couple of weeks ago I grabbed some veggies that were sitting on the counter and played around with them. (I had food fresh on the brain since me and some photography friends had just been discussing inspiration and how/where we were seeing it, and that got us off on a discussion of prints for our kitchens, and then photographing food…or at least I think it was in that order!) Anyway, after trying a few different things, my favorites turned out to be these cherry tomatoes (Kennedy, by the way, LOVES these and had just picked them out of MawMaw and Poppa’s garden that afternoon).

I think I like the sort of ‘modern’ feel of the tomatoes lined up, for lack of a better word/description. Here are a few that I liked…

Those last two are very similar, but a slightly different angle, which caused me to like both :)

I still am not back into my email yet (picture me rolling eyes, with a huge sigh), and am just now back to having the internet. I have been without it since Friday, so I’ve had some un-planned un-plugged time. (yes, I know I am over-using ‘un-’ right now!) SO, if you need to email me, please feel free to do so at bobbiebrown5@gmail.com

I hope your having a fabulous week!

Email

My email is still down. They are now telling me it could be 5-7 business days!  Not even kidding. Sigh. I believe I need something better than hotmail… I am feeling very lost without access to my email. And am very much tired of having to deal with all the hoops I am having to jump through to get this resolved.

I just want to talk to a real, live person and get this dealt with! Ugh!

Please feel free to email me at bobbiebrown5@gmail.com for now. And wish me luck getting into my hotmail account SOON!

:)
