Tomorrow I will leave for a short trip to VA for an engagement session (for my little sis and her future hubs :) ), and while I am very excited, I also know I will miss three certain little girls. And their Daddy, of course.
A few weeks ago I grabbed my camera to get a few pictures of Tenley sitting on her changing table (blogged here). Then Bristol walked in looking like this, and I just couldn’t stop shooting. I captured my girls, just doing what they do. Totally un-planned and un-posed, (well, Kennedy posed for me a little) and so often these kind of images are some of my absolute favorites. Of course, it helps that I adore this type of image. The real moments. Imperfectly perfect.

I must admit, when I noticed Bristol laying here like this I was all “ahhhh!”

Looks like somebody has been watching Momma
notice she has the camera turned around backwards?!

and then, all of a sudden, she stops and walks over to Kennedy and rearranges a piece of hair. She mumbled something as she did it that sounded like “there…just like that…love it…” and then she stepped back and took more pictures.
I suddenly felt a lump in my throat. They watch, they learn, from us. I want to teach them how to be the very best that they can be. In all that they do. I want to teach them to treat others kindly, I want to teach them to be confident and humble. I want to teach them to reach out and help others, to love, and stand up for what is right. And so much more. And if they ever do find themselves taking pictures like their Momma, I hope their subjects feel absolutely beautiful. I am pretty sure Kennedy did that day as Bristol did her thing

So happy that I got this moment on camera. It happens often. And I love it.

My girlies. Goodness I love them.

Happy weekending ya’ll! Thanks for stopping by
