Finally! Here are some pictures I took at Megan and Garrett’s wedding… I was not the photographer, but I took my camera along and took some at the reception…
This post is a little more on the personal side. And let me just go ahead and say; the pictures are not really good – just quick snap-shots – so this painting is so much better when you see it in the room…
Okay, so as most of you know we are expecting our first baby, and have been working on the nursery – which has been so much fun! We don’t know what we are having, so we are doing a nursery that could be boy or girl for the most part… Julie, a long time friend of mine, is an amazing artist and has painted a tree on the wall for me. That is what this post is all about, for all you who have been asking to see this tree – here it is!
And I hope Julie and I are still friends after I post this! Haha! She came in that day laughing at herself in her paint spattered clothes saying she “looked like a booger”!!
*Julie, please don’t be mad at me for posting these!… I LOVE my tree and am amazed by how you did it with such ease and took all of my rambled up ‘thoughts and idea’s’ and made them come to life on the wall – it truly is a work of art. Thank You. XoXo*
Remember the Eudy’s from a couple of posts ago? Well, we got together (this time with all 4 of them) and finished up the shoot.
There are not many different ‘poses’ in this shoot, but they had a specific idea of what they wanted – and I love them!
First, we have Laura. The oldest, and the only girl….
Ginny is my cousin, Kyle is her husband, and these are their ‘just because’ pictures…
Getting back to the root of this blog, the reason I started the whole thing, Family.
It still amazes me how so many come here to look at my pictures now. And that just by posting pictures of family and misc. things I have had so many requests to do other pictures. So many opportunities, I feel humbled and very blessed.
Now for the pictures; be warned – There are a ton in this post! I did try to make a lot of them into collages so that the post was not 5 miles long….!
Okay, the title of this post is not really true… it should read “Nathan” (the youngest of the Eudy kids) because that is really all we have right now! I did throw in one of Laura and one of Jacob, but we are not yet finished getting their pictures – we plan to finish this week – but in the meantime I could not help sharing these of Nathan…. They are SO cute!
Okay, first we have Laura of course… (love those blue eyes)
Then we have ‘thumbs up Nathan’ – he wanted to give the thumbs up sign in every picture! It was hilarious!
Then we have the water pictures…. I am taking his picture while he is perched on a rock when he suddenly decides that he would rather be in the water! Now, let me pause here to admit that I am not always the best at making kids ‘stay put’ especially when they do something like this – I would rather just sit back and take their picture of them being kids!! I just love these kinds of pictures, I think they show the real kid that they are… And so, with that being said, as you can see in picture one he gets one foot in the water. Picture two he has both legs in with that tongue hanging out! In picture three he is in and giving the thumbs up sign again and then in picture four he has a wide eyed look that is just to cute!
I just wanted to post a quick little note to say a huge “Thank you” to all of you who comment and give me feedback on my pictures. To all of you who encourage me to go further and take chances. Some of you comment on my blog, (thank you! I love to see comments!!) Some of you email me, tell me in person, etc. I know I have posted a ‘Thank you’ post before, and I may be saying some of the same things….. But it truly does mean so much to me to hear and to know that my pictures have touched someone in some way or another. A mother recently told me that I had managed to capture the same expression on her grown son that she remembered seeing when he was a little boy; it made me feel so good! All of your comments and encouragment make me feel as if I am doing something right. So thank you and I hope I can continue to take pictures that you all love.
Here a couple that I took of a barn I recently found… I just love it!!
Brittany wanted a few ‘maternity’ pictures before she has her baby (due the end of this month) so we got together over the weekend and did a little photo shoot.
(don’t we all wish we could look like this girl 9 months pregnant??!!)

I love this little series; Brittany and I didn’t know Mark was going to make this face – he just sat down and did it and luckily I was ready to get the shot!! I think it is hysterical!

Okay, first of all, for all you out there who have ever asked me to do your wedding pictures in the past and I simply explained that as much as I appreciated the offer but “I do not do weddings” this wedding was a little different. And here is why; Emily had a photographer lined up, she had been talking to her for several months when at the last minute – the week before the wedding to be exact – the deal fell thru. For some reason or another, the photographer was not able to do it. And that is when Emily called me. She called me on a Monday night (the wedding was going to be that coming Saturday) and explained it all to me. She then asked if I would mind doing the wedding pictures for her. She assured me that if I did not want to do it that she would understand and told me that if I would do it she knew without a doubt that I would get exactly what she was looking for. Now, that was awfully sweet of her, and I had done the pictures of the field asking her to marry for Derrick and then did their engagement pictures, but a wedding? Oh boy, was I nervous! But how could I say no? I mean, she was in quite a predicament. So I agreed that I would do it.
As we pulled out of our drive to head over to the wedding I could feel my heart beat a little faster. I tried to think if I was forgetting anything important; memory cards, extra battery, lens, etc. I confessed to Stuart that I was nervous and wondered if I could do it. He, of course, having all kinds confidence in me, told me that I would do just fine. He told me that it was okay to be a little nervous, he had been nervous at some of his best baseball games. He said not to let it get the best of me and just go “do my thing”… So, with all that being said, I went out and I did it. I took pictures, I pulled on collars, I walked and squatted in heels, and boy do I have a new respect for wedding photographers – It is a ton of work!
But in the end I was quite happy with my images. I had fun, but I was also reminded of why I have turned down weddings in the past. It is just a one shot deal, you can’t redo a wedding, and that in itself is a lot of pressure!
Derrick, Emily and your families:
Thank you for trusting me with your pictures more than even I trusted myself!
Derrick and Emily, I hope you two are loving married life! Congratulations!
Note: some of these pictures are a bit small becuase I made them into a little collage, but if you click on the image it should bring up a bigger picture for you…..
