Our first family photo

Thanks to my sis Holly for helping me capture our first family picture! I wanted to get one of us while Kennedy was still very little, so I set up the shot, set the camera settings, Holly took the picture and voila! This is what we got. I think it turned out pretty good!

Hope you are all having a fantastic week!!

Daddy’s hands….

Often I will ‘see’ a picture in my minds eye before I ever pull out the camera. I will have an idea, and then go to shoot it. Sometimes it is better than what I had imagined and sometimes it is nothing like what I had imagined. This can sometimes be hard because I will not be satisfied with a really good picture because it just didn’t turn out the way I had seen it in my mind! And as I have said before I think that as an artist, we are our own worst critic, so I often let others see the pictures that I am un-sure about to get their reactions.

For awhile now I have been thinking about taking a picture of Kennedy’s little feet in Stu’s hands. I can’t describe exactly what kind of picture I had in mind, but it was not this! However, there is something about this picture that I like. I don’t love it. I am not thrilled that I didn’t capture the picture that I saw with my minds eye. But yet, there is something about it that I sort of like. Maybe it is just the simple fact that it is my husbands hands holding my daughters feet. I don’t know. That is why I am posting this – just to see what you all say! Is it good? Is it bad? Let me know what you think!

Kennedy’s first photo shoot….

Yay! I finally have my computer back! So now I am posting Kennedy’s first little photoshoot… I am sure it is just the first of many! I said a long time ago that if and when I had kids I would take a picture a day just so I can see how much they change in the first year. I have since decided a picture a day might be a little much, so I have decided to do a picture a week (at least!) in hopes to put them all together after one year and actually see her go thru the many changes that I know she will. She changes so much every single day, everyone has warned me that she will grow up fast – I believe it! I find myself just staring at her trying to take in everything, fearing that I might miss something. But still I feel that when we get up in the middle of the night to feed she changed since we went to bed! Haha!

Everyone also told me that there is simply nothing like having a child. The love that you feel. The joy that a child brings… I now understand, it is truly amazing. I had no idea that it was possible to love this much.

Thanks to everyone who have left comments on the other posts… as I have said before, I love to see comments! So don’t be shy, leave me a comment and make my day!

Still no computer….

Sigh. I still don’t have my computer back yet. I know I have failed terribly latey in the blogging department, but I am just waiting on my computer! I seriously feel a little lost without it! Haha! But I have been taking pictures of Kennedy that I hope to be able to edit and post soon. For now, here is a quick snapshot of her sleeping the other day……

Kennedy Grace

Okay I am a little late getting this one here, but my computer picked this past week to crash so I have been without! I am still without my computer so these pictures are un-edited, but I wanted to get them posted anyway!
Okay, back to the matter at hand; We have a girl! Her name is Kennedy Grace, born on October 21, 2008. She weighed 7lbs, 8 ounces and was 21 inches long. And we are in LOVE! (of course!) Here are a few pictures for you, the first one is only minutes after she was born and the others are just a few we have taken since.
I will be blogging more of her soon – and for all of you who have been waiting for this post, I am so sorry it took me this long to get it up! I wanted to do it the day she was born!

One year ago today…..

Stuart and I got married! So, I decided to post a few pictures from our wedding day to give you all something new to look at. Sorry I haven’t been posting much of anything at all lately. Since I am now 9 months pregnant I really haven’t been shooting anything! Hopefully soon we’ll have a new baby and I will for sure post pictures of him/her on here!

(Photo’s by Kelley Clayton)

This is a shot of all of us who got married last year – I love this picture, we were hysterical because we had just tried to kiss all at the same time for the photographer and we just couldn’t get it right!

And there we go, off to honeymoon in CA!! Hmmm. Maybe I could post a few of our favorite honeymoon pictures later this week….

Holly

I recently did a little photoshoot with my sis, Holly. Here are a few of my favorites….

I am not really sure what she is laughing at here… We got hysterical a couple of times. At one point we were out next to a busy road where everybody we knew was coming home from work and here we are, me 8 months pregnant, and her hanging out in the ditch taking pictures!! Then at another point I laid down on the ground to get a few shots and she found that pretty funny since I can no longer lay on my belly, I was awkwardly laying on my side and then she had to come pull me up! Haha!

Random Shots

I pulled into my parents drive over the weekend and noticed this little mushroom growing in the grass… I just had to take a picture of it! And I think it turned out kind of cool!!

This chair is from a little shoot I recently did – I’ll be posting some pictures from that later…

Hope you all are having a great week!

Kickball and Spoons

‘Spoons’ as in the card game Spoons. Our family gets together on Sunday afternoons sometimes to play kickball. This time we played kickball, then when it got dark went in and played spoons….

This post has been a long time coming actually, this was a few weeks ago by now! I have been busy lately and just have not had time to post it. But, here it is, finally!

MawMaw was the official score-keeper!

Uncle Doug tried to teach Holly how to jump up with the ball between her feet and catch it…

But I am not so sure she ‘got’ it! Haha! Made for some funny pictures though!

My family is pretty loud, one reason is because there are just so many of us, but the other reason, well, we just tend to be loud! But it gets TOTALLY out of control when we play spoons! I really don’t have any of the good action pictures because I was in on the action instead of taking pictures… but here are a few shots of the game.
