TN Brownies…

The ‘TN Brownies’ are Stu’s brother and his family, which include 3 adorable kiddos. They all came down for the weekend so of course I took a few pictures; here are some of my favorites…

First, a few of Bailey:

This first one of Allie is so yummy! Words cannot describe how much I love it!

And here is one of Owen… (I should probably go through and grab a couple of more, but it’s late and I am going to bed! Sorry!)

Aaaahhhhhh….

…..I love this weather we’ve been having! Kennedy and I have been outside a lot lately, its the kind of weather that just makes you want to take pictures even more than the norm… and so I got a few of Kennedy touching the grass for the first time (which she loved!)

This one is on our front porch…
I even brought the hammock out of hibernation! Here is a picture I took of it I thought was kind of cool…
On a different note; I understand a couple of people have tried to email me but it never came through… if you have emailed me and not heard back, please leave a comment here and I WILL get back to ya! Sorry about that ya’ll!

Good Times

Last week a few girls came over for a ‘picture party’. Basically we just pulled out all of my old photo albums, ate, drank and took a trip down memory lane… It was so much fun! We laughed at the clothes we wore, talked about who dated who, asked why we allowed each other out of the house with that hair style… It was a blast. It made me want to take my camera anywhere and everywhere with me again. I used to have my camera with me snapping pictures all of the time, somewhere along the way I have kind of gotten out of the habit. (I know MawMaw, you have been telling me this!) but after looking at all those old pictures I feel…. inspired. Inspired to capture those moments, moments at family gatherings, moments with friends, moments that otherwise slip by. Instead of letting them all slip by I plan to pull out my camera and capture a few of them. Its not that I never take pictures of everyday life, I just don’t do it near as much as I once did.

So be warned, if you are around me, I might just try to snap a picture! And blog readers, you’ll probably see a few of those pictures here! Like these from my party….

The many faces….

of Kennedy Grace! Goodness this girl makes me laugh! Check out some of these faces…. (seriously, I laugh out loud at this first one especially!)

Is it just me being her Mommy, or does anyone else want to just squeeze these cheeks?!
And she figured out how to grab her toes this week…

Art

Simply put, I love art.
And I am incredibly lucky to have a friend who is a fabulous artist! If you keep up with my blog you may remember the tree that Julie painted for me in my nursery….. I recently asked her to do 3 square canvas’ for Kennedy, I wanted something that could go in her nursery now and then could go in her ‘big girl’ room later. And I love what Julie did! I had some idea’s of what I wanted, but she took it and made it so much better than I could have imagined! She even personalized it with Kennedy’s name (notice the tag on the car).

So anyway, I wanted to share these pictures with you, and let you know that Julie is now doing custom art to sell! She has recently started a blog that you should definitely go check out. (http://artbyjpaige.blogspot.com/) and if you want something unique/custom/personal give her a shout. She can do modern, traditional, something for your baby, or for an older child, she recenty did a cool laundry room sign made out of wood (which makes for a perfect gift by the way!)…. so she is not limited to canvas only. If you have something in mind, shoot her an email and see what she can do.

Her email is: mclanton@carolina.rr.com

Facebook

I jumped on the bandwagon earlier this week. The facebook bandwagon. Until now I have stayed away, when my friends would try to get me to sign up I would be like “ah, I don’t know… I just don’t have time….” But I recently got an email from Candice at thebeautifulmess telling me about a group of area photographers networking on Facebook, so I thought “oh yeah! I’m in!” and immediately signed up! And by the look of things, I am pretty much the last one on board! (Thanks Candice, by the way!)

So, it feels kind of weird to ask people to ‘be my friend’ and to ‘write on someones wall’ but I am starting to get the hang of it… If you are on Facebook, look me up, I’d love to hear from ya!

I’ll leave you with a few snapshots I took of Kennedy playing with her baby doll…

Friends shoot!

Meet Leah, Katie and Ashton (pictured in that order below!) It ended up being pretty cold when we were in the shade but these girls toughed it out.

Mmmm, the sun… this picture even feels warm dosen’t it?!

A few of Ashton by herself….

Katie….

and last but not least, Leah…
Now, you always have your ‘out-takes’ in all shoots. You know, the pictures that didn’t turn out exactly as planned? Most of the time they are some of my favorites! They are normally funny and always feel ‘real’. So I decided to share a few of the out-takes from this shoot here…
first of all, Ashton falls of the sidewalk:
which made us all laugh and Katie nearly fell!
haha! love it!
the wind just would not give us a break!

So there you are! Thanks again Leah, Katie and Ashton!
