Merry Christmas!

I had all sorts of different idea’s for Christmas card pictures this year. But what did I do? I ran out to our yard, chose a spot with good light that was not my first choice but I didn’t really have another choice due to the time of day, and snapped a few. I took the easy way out for several reasons, one being that I was SO busy, and another reason is I didn’t want to make too much of a big deal about it for fear that the girls would not cooperate at all. Maybe next year.

I did find adorable pink glitter santa hats in the dollar section at Target that I thought were perfect considering I did not have them dressed in the traditional Christmas colors. And I think they turned out really cute!

This is the one we used on the Christmas cards:

And here are some out-takes:

Love that Kennedy is laughing in this one, but Bristol is interested in something in the backyard…

Then Kennedy smiles right into the camera but Bristol is still looking at something in the backyard!

Then Bristol finally turns around with a look that clearly says “What do you want?!”

Then Bristol gets tickled…

Notice the legs kicking while she laughs?

So there you go. Merry Christmas from our family to yours.

XoXo
:)

Miscellaneous Monday

You know the old saying “A picture is worth a thousand words“?  I do love that quote, but sometimes the thousand words one might interpret from a picture might be untrue. Take this picture for example:

Looks like Kennedy is refusing to turn around and has her fingers in her ears as if she is refusing to listen. (which is probably not a far stretch for Kennedy when it comes to  taking pictures! haha!) But, in reality she just got distracted by something while making silly faces! She did manage to get turned around towards me again though:

Today I am just barely pausing in front of my computer long enough to do this super quick post. We are counting down the days till Christmas and squeezing in all the family time and cooking making we can manage! :)

More to come tomorrow (?) of these two in their cute santa hats!

Sean, Julie and Emerson

If you read my blog much at all you have probably heard me rave about Julie and her awesome work as an artist.  (check out her blog HERE) I did family pictures for her, her hubby Sean and their sweet baby boy Emerson awhile back… These are a few of my favorites..

I love both these next two… so I am posting both :)

Miscellaneous Monday

I posted last week that the girls were sick. Well, we all ended up getting it. Lets just say that I do not want the stomach virus again anytime soon.

Moving on now.

Kennedy loves to throw a blanket over her head and be a “monster” these days…

she is wearing her Uncles hat in this picture to be an extra cool monster :)

She finds it hysterical when the blanket is pulled off her head!

Next, I give you a sweet picture of Bristol that I snapped last week.

And how about a little sneak peek of a shoot I recently did in the freezing cold…

Seriously, it was so cold when we did Tiffany’s pictures. Notice her hair blowing? That wind made it feel 20 degree’s cooler! But Tiffany did awesome….. full post to come later.

Short and sweet today ya’ll :)

Have a wonderful Monday!

Under the weather :(

Mommy-radar is on high around here right now. Both the girls have been/are sick. :(     I think they are getting better now. But still not feeling like themselves yet.

So, till we all get back on track and back to blogging, here is a couple of pictures of Bristol that I like…

One thing I have discovered after having baby #2. The ‘firsts’ like the learning to point (first picture) and the crawling (2nd picture), those little things and milestones are just as exciting as they were with the first baby! We laugh when she points and we cheered like crazy when she first started crawling. And to make the crawling even sweeter, Kennedy would clap and cheer right along with us, and then would say “Way to go Sissy! Way to go!”  We loved it!  However, we now here “No Sissy, no!” more often considering Bristol is all over the place and in to everything!

Miscellaneous Monday

It is December. The countdown to Christmas has begun! Or, in our house, we just look for Christmas lights and ‘big snowman outside-side!” (in Kennedy’s words) She loves the big inflatable snowmen.  She is not quite old enough to count down the days to Christmas, but she squeals with excitement when she spots Christmas lights, snowmen or anything else that is festive as we drive down the road. It is pretty cute, I must say.

The girl also loves applesauce. I took a few pictures of her eating some last week. I figured if she was going to stay in one place for more than 5 seconds I’d take advantage and snap some pictures :)

Bristol was eating a cookie while Kennedy ate her applesauce…

and I had to snap a quick picture over the weekend right before we walked out the door of Bristol in her seat with her little bunny ears coat on :)

While Kennedy is loving applesauce I am loving this cool little camera.  It is a mini Diana (it belongs to my brothers girlfriend) she had it sitting out at my parents house over the weekend so I had to play with it a little bit :) I am excited to see what the pictures look like, if they turn out to be any good then I’ll post them here on the blog.  It is a film camera, so that means we have to wait. Oh yes. That is hard for me! (I should have taken the lens cover off for this picture, but I forgot too)

I found myself glancing down at the back of the camera when I’d snap a picture, expecting to see it..haha!

By the way, ”Thank you” for your point and shoot camera suggestions. I have not bought one yet, but hope to soon!

I am also loving this video of Kennedy I took over the weekend… (for some reason I cannot get it embedded here on the blog… I can only get the link to show up. But if you click on the link below you should be able to see it)

And while I am talking about things I am loving… my Christmas candles and getting my first Christmas cards over the weekend are right up there on the list. And the fact that the cards I got this weekend had pictures I had taken made me extra happy :) (thank ya’ll!)

Happy Monday to all and Happy Birthday to my Dad!

Sol

This little boy is dear to my heart… I have been doing his pictures since he was only a couple months old.  I love getting to see him every few months and see how much he has changed and grown.

Here he is exploring on his first trip to the pumpkin patch :)

(his expression in this first picture makes me laugh!)

Miscellaneous Monday

Well here we are… the Monday after Thanksgiving. I hope you all had a wonderful weekend and a Happy Thanksgiving :)

Our’s was wonderful. After a long weekend, we have got a super busy week ahead of us. Starting out with no laundry detergent. How did that happen?! I don’t even remember the last time I ran out of laundry detergent. It is something that I feel a little lost without.  I just don’t like the feeling of not being able to throw in a load of laundry if and when I decide to. And believe me, it seems like I always have a load of laundry to do! Oh well, that means my trip to the store will just have to be first thing today!

Mmm, I am rambling.

Truth is, I have no idea what my post is going to be today. So I am letting myself ramble. (sorry, feel free to skip this post and come back later!)

I would share pictures from my weekend with you. IF I had taken any! I took my camera with me a few places, but I didn’t even take it out the bag! I know, terrible. But sometimes, especially after shooting a lot, I just don’t want to mess with it. Like I need a little break. A little down time from the camera. Or maybe like I just want to live in the moment instead of capture it. And doing that generally rejuvenates me and makes me want to shoot. Makes me excited to pick the camera up again. So, for the upcoming shoots I have this week and weekend, well ya’ll, bring it! Because I have had a long weekend without the camera and I am ready to shoot again!

I did pull out my phone and snap a picture of Kennedy and Bristol while shopping. It turned out awful. And it made me want a small point and shoot camera for my purse even MORE. Mine broke awhile back and I don’t like being without it. Because who knows when I’ll want to snap a picture of my girls while shopping in World Market? And I’d like for it to be a decent shot! Any suggestions on what point and shoot is a good one to have? There are so many out there I don’t have a clue!

And it needs to take a better picture than this!!:

See what I mean? My camera phone is not doing the job.

While out and about shopping, I did come across a quote that I love. (I love finding good quotes) I don’t remember who it quoted, or if it even said, but it said “A good leader leads by example”. Love it!

Happy Monday … If you are still reading :)

Thanksgiving, Thank you.

Mmmm, Thanksgiving. It is that time of year again when the kitchen smells yummy from all the baking and cooking. Family gets together. The boys go to Turkey Shoots. The girls look through the paper at all the ads and wonder aloud if that sale is really worth getting up at a crazy hour for. We eat more turkey than we really care about.  And we are thankful.

Today I wanted to stop baking and cooking long enough to say a huge “Thank You” to you. My blog readers. My clients. My commentors. My supporters. Whatever you are, whoever you are, Thank you!

I am humbled and thankful, and inspired. THANK YOU!

And because a post is always better with pictures, here is one of Bristol that just melts my heart. (taken a few weeks ago)

Something about that look… it just pulls on the heart-strings!  And of course I can’t stop at just one……

Kennedy jumped in this one, and I love it…they way they are looking at each other!

Happy Thanksgiving :)

Family shoot at the beach

I am so far behind blogging… it feels like I did this shoot months ago! (It was not that long ago, but it has been awhile!)  The McComb family asked me to come to the beach to do their pictures.. They have spent a lot of time together over the years at their beach house and love it there, so the beach is a little extra special to them.

*This shoot was a gift to Christy for Mothers Day… so, Happy Mothers Day Christy!
