Miscellaneous Monday

Driving down the road the other day Kennedy yells “Hey look! (pointing to the sky, where she can see the clouds moving) God is carrying the clouds around up there!

Ah, from the mouth of babes….

Here she is holding her baby sister…

And here are all three of my girlies together :)
(Kennedy, Bristol and Tenley)

Bristol …. love the light we had in these!

Kennedy and Bristol, just being silly :)

Happy Monday :)

Liam

My friend Julie had her second baby boy back in March, and he is simply precious!

When I went to see them in the hospital I took my camera along so I could get a few quick shots. Now that I have my own kids I have come to know just how special those hospital pictures are. I love looking back at the first pictures and remembering the feelings and those sweet first moments…

Meet Liam Baxter:

We got a few with Mommy and big brother Emerson…

and a couple of just Emerson too :)

Julie… you have two adorable boys… thanks for always trusting me to capture them :) XoXo

Sol

In a way, I feel like I have watched this little guy grow up in front of my camera (and I love that!) The first time I took his pictures he was a tiny little newborn, and I have since captured him at many different stages in his 2 years… he is now a handsome 2 year old who can use a ball and bat like you’ve never seen before! (I am not even kidding you – we got a few pictures of course :) )

check out that face in the picture to the right; such a serious expression!

Okay, I am totally in love with these three :)

Now here he is doing what he loves best… playing ball.
Seriously, I was so impressed. This kid didn’t miss a single ball! He really is talented. His Mom said he goes out every morning – by himself – and hits his ball and runs the ‘bases’ over and over again.

Thank you Sol, for always being a sweetheart  :)

Tenley Rhyann – One Month

Today, our baby girl is one month old. And well, I just have to say it…. how did one month go by so fast?! Already, our sweet girl is changing and growing so much. I am taking her picture every week, for the first year, and here is a shot each week thus far :)

In case you are wondering about the picture a week for a year… before I even had kids I said I’d take a picture every day for a year just so I could look back and see them change in the pictures. Well, I had my first, Kennedy, and realized that every day was a bit much (I never even tried!) but instead felt like once a week was good enough. I make sure to get at least one good picture every week and then I create a book with the pictures – one picture on each page, 52 pages (53 counting the day she was born) after those frist 53 pages I include a lot of pages of random pictures throughout the first year. Now might be a good time to admit that I have created a book for Kennedy, but still haven’t gotten around to doing Bristols! I have the pictures though, and that is what counts! And I will make her book, it just hasn’t happened yet :)

Now here is Tenley, the day she was born:

Week 1

Week 2

Week 3

Week 4

Amazing how much she has changed in one month!  I hope you all have a wonderful weekend… and next week, I plan to get back to blogging shoots I did before I had Tenley.

Love.

I love shooting. I love my camera. I love the sound of the shutter and the feel of the camera in my hands. I love capturing moments. I love capturing smiles, laughter and emotion. I love the feeling of getting ‘the’ shot and capturing light in a way that is beautiful.

Every so often I feel that I fall in love with it all, all over again.

This week it happened when I walked outside with my camera to snap a few pictures of Kennedy and Bristol eating popsicles on the front porch swing….totally spur of the moment…and I got so caught up in capturing them that I felt giddy. I loved it. And I love the images I got.

Bristol Bee

I’ll be posting a few more of these soon :)

It’s been awhile….

….but we are still here! Thanks for hanging with us while blogging is few and far between ;)

We are still settling in and enjoying life as we know it right now. Funny how you forget how much time it takes to just get little things done with a newborn. Even when you have a good baby, it still takes a lot of time to get the normal stuff done. And the laundry…how does a newborn create so much laundry?!

Kennedy and Bristol are totally in love with Tenley. And really, in between the “Girls, get out of her face, that is enough kisses!” I love watching them talk to her and ‘take care’ of her. Kennedy makes up songs when Tenley cries, Bristol sings along sometimes, even though she does not have a clue what the words might be, since Kennedy is often making it up as she goes…

I walked in the living room one day to find Bristol like this:

what made it extra funny to me was the fact that the sunglasses just happened to match her outfit perfectly…

I am in love with these next two shots… Bristol wanted to kiss Tenley while I was taking her picture one day, and I love that I managed to get these…

Then Bristol decided she wanted me to take pictures of her, so I jumped at the chance! I just let her do whatever she wanted, this is my Bristol Bee for sure :)

Kennedy jumped in for about 2 seconds…

Happy Monday … I hope you all have a wonderful week!

Pardon us…

While we take a little break from blogging regular shoots. Those are super important, and they will make it here on the blog. But right now, we’re busy enjoying the transition from a family of four, to a family of five.

I make it sound all easy and wonderful don’t I? Well, lets keep it real. It isn’t all easy, or wonderful! But, for the most part it is, really. You know, we have those moments where I wonder “what in the world am I supposed to do now?!” with the house a wreck, kids screaming, refusing to do simple things just to see if I will make them, etc. Yep, it happens. But, I love the other moments, and there are plenty of those too. You know, the good ones. The ones where Kennedy asks “Where is my sister?” then both her and Bristol go running to her crib and climb up just to look at her. The moments that I hear Bristol say “Hey Sweetie! Your so cute!” (because really, just hearing her say that is so cute!)

These moments, the good and the bad, the good definitely outweigh the bad.

So far, Tenley is a happy baby…and that makes me a happy Momma!

“Hey Momma”

Happy one week Tenley, we love you!

Its a GIRL!

This week, we had baby girl #3!

We are completely in love.

She was born Tuesday, May 1st, 2 days before her due date (that was a first for me!) We are all doing great and enjoying these precious newborn days….
