Yesterday morning as I made dessert for our Easter dinner with family, Kennedy came into the kitchen, looked at me with her big brown eyes and asked a loaded question for a 3-year-old… “Momma, what makes your heart happy?”

Really? I love that kid. I replied that her hugs and kisses makes my heart happy and she broke out in a big smile and delivered one of her hugs and kisses right then.

I got to thinking about it later and realized that I have heard my Mother-in-law tell her that she and Bristol make her heart happy…Kennedy does not forget anything and apparently decided to find out what makes my heart happy. Ahhh, the precious moments of childhood, and Motherhood. (lets just not talk about the sassiness that has become my 3-year-old lately!)

I really don’t have a blog post prepared for today, and since I am busy with editing and shooting (among other things), I decided to concentrate on getting up a blog post for tomorrow, since it obviously didn’t happen last week! But…I just had to share a little peek of the cuteness you have to look forward too….this dude rocks

I am half asleep while typing this… it is Sunday night, and I am posting this while the girls (and the hubby) are sleeping, knowing that when my feet hit the floor tomorrow it will be non-stop go-go-go. For the rest of the week. Yeah, that may be a little dramatic, but that is how it feels! Last night after listening to me move from room to room doing anything and everything and basically leaving a mess all over the place while cleaning out and organizing other things, Stuart looks up from the couch where he is snuggled with the girls and says “Babe, are you nesting?”

Um yeah. I think I might be. Now could you please go clean out the shirts you no longer wear from the closet?!

Apperantly I think he should be nesting too. Poor guy.

Only 4 weeks and 2 days (but hey, who is counting?!) till my due date, and I am feeling it! The need to get things done, the feeling that every other person says to me “wow, you are out there!” and “looks like your about ready to have that baby!” but they mean well, I have taken no offence so far, which is saying a lot for a hormonal pregnant woman

Okay, moving on now…

I am going to share a few sneak peeks of the sweetness I’ve had in front of my camera lately… since blogging does not always make my ‘nesting list’ I am a little bit behind But, I’ll be sharing the full posts in good time, I promise!

Two years ago I held my sweet Bristol Lynn for the first time….

It is hard to believe that two short years ago, she was this tiny…

Here she is now… an adorable little blond haired girl with a mind of her own. She keeps us laughing most of the time and gets into trouble a lot too

Whew! It has been a kinda ca-razy around here…hence the late post today…and I’ll go ahead and warn you, it is a small pile of pictures from my little camera I keep in my purse, nothing more… Enjoy!

I still love the convenience of this little camera! I love pulling it out and just capturing the moment. No, they aren’t perfect shots, far from it. And yes, I could do so much better with my ‘big’ camera, but the point is, I wouldn’t have it handy in my purse, and therefore, I’d miss these shots entirely… So I am loving these moments, imperfections and all

This weekend, I stepped out of my comfort zone…twice. (whoohoo! Go me!)

First, while doing a photoshoot, I moved two little girls out into a field that was in full mid-day sun. Not my kind of shooting preference, at all. But, I fired off a few shots and totally love the outcome

Aren’t they adorable?! Once I got back to where I could actually see the pictures (it was too bright to even see my LCD screen when I was out there, so I had no idea what I was getting) I love that we did them in the sun. I feel like it adds to their ‘summery dresses’ (which I loved, by the way) and their carefree, happy personalities… (I’ll be posting more from this shoot soon).  

Then, yesterday I made yeast rolls. Yep, that is definitely stepping out of my comfort zone. Bread - and crusts of any kind – scare me. In fact, I make apple pies once or twice a year, and every time I roll out my dough I hear my Mom’s voice “Don’t let the dough work you…YOU work the dough!” Ah, she makes it sound so easy. Anyway, back to this weekend, I found these Yeast rolls on Pinterest and decided to give it a go. I had never even used my ‘dough hook’ that came with my mixer and when I saw that on the recipe I was like “uhhhh, I guess this is what I use…” haha!

They turned out good. Not the best I’ve ever had, but good for a first time.

Today is my Birthday. The big 3-0. Wow. Yikes!

Okay, now that we have that out of the way….. Lets move on to a few of my favorite recent pictures of Bristol…

I actually had the idea to take pictures of myself holding a sign that said ”30!” with a look of disbelief on my face, (because really, I can hardly believe I am thirty!) but of course I never got around to it. Then I was also going to hold a sign that said “8 weeks to go!” to document the fact that we only have eight weeks left till our baby’s due date. Which is exciting. Which is also one of the reasons I love these pictures of Bristol. She is in her room - the ‘nursery’ - which she will soon be moved out of. And I love the fact that right now she is my ‘baby’ and these shots were taken in her room, on her changing table. I got her dressed one day and just decided to grab my camera for a few random shots. No plans. No expectations. And I love what I got. First she was playing “Peek-a-pie” (that is how she says it, and I love it!) Then she was just being silly, and as I’ve mentioned before, I love laughter, especially my girls
